Locations & Venues

I’m sure you have questions aplenty regarding where I officiate ceremonies … and I’ve got answers.

Where in Ohio do you perform wedding ceremonies?

I hang my hat in Akron, Ohio. While I do perform ceremonies all over Northeast Ohio, I perform ceremonies most frequently in Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Medina, Kent and the surrounding areas in Summit, Stark, Cuyahoga, Medina and Portage Counties, respectively. It’s not impossible for me to perform ceremonies farther afield, but depending on the times and locations of other ceremonies I may already have on my calendar, the distance of your ceremony location from Akron is always a factor in determining my availability. But contacting me as early as possible makes it more likely that I’ll be able to perform your ceremony, even if it’s taking place outside my immediate area.

Where in Ohio don’t you perform wedding ceremonies?

The answer is simple: There’s nowhere in Ohio I won’t perform a wedding ceremony. However, the further from Akron your ceremony is taking place, the higher my fee will be. The (modestly) higher fee is to cover the cost of my travel time, mileage on my vehicle, fuel and the like. If you’re looking for an officiant solely on the basis of price, it might make my services cost prohibitive. But if it’s more important that your ceremony is personal, eloquent and moving, the cost is definitely worthwhile.

At what types of venues do you perform ceremonies?

I’m no prima uomo – I’ll perform your ceremony at any imaginable venue. Most ceremonies I perform take place at party centers, country clubs, hotels, B&Bs, state parks, restaurants, wineries or at the couple’s home or another private residence. On the more exotic side, I’ve performed ceremonies at museums and historical sites, campgrounds, dive bars, an airport hangar, the base of a waterfall, the stage of a 1,000-seat concert venue, on an old-timey covered bridge and a zoo. (I’m not making that last one up. The stump-tailed macaques in the part of the building we were in were making a lot of noise, which either meant they loved the ceremony or they hated it – no one knows for sure. I gave them all business cards asked them to leave me a testimonial, but all they did was fling … never mind.) So no matter the type of venue you’ve selected for your ceremony – traditional or off-the-wall, urbane or bucolic, indoors or outdoors, rain or shine – count me in.
